He is the parasitic kind but a frigid parasitic. Always just close enough and perfectly far away yet never risking detachment. He must have created an invisible leash of sorts between us; the kind parents put their kids on at theme parks and malls. Dammit, he’s not my kid! I’m not a fan of leashes or brazen decisions, thus when I snapped at him and shooed him away in a permanent manner I felt no relief. My adamant attitude troubles me… my shrink says it’s a phase.
